A sneak preview of something I've been working on for James.

I'd be very interested in helping putting together a CD. Print, flash, video, I'm the helpful graphic designer to ask Smile

Excellent work. This is the sort of stuff that can be presented in a work context. I approve.

One point to think about. Most people quickly accept that there is a future/current problem with oil. What most people don't see is the implications. This sort of introduction/overview of production needs to be followed up by an 'index' categorised by the area of debate (e.g.

Future Oil production {OIL INDUSTRY FACTS}
Potential overestimation of middle east reserves
Damage to wildlife reserves
Interruption to supply
Energy Expended in Recovery
What different forms of energy are good for
Alternative Forms of Power
Resource Wars

Says Who? {REASONS TO TAKE SERIOUSLY}
Interviews
Press Articles

Population Issues {PROBLEMS EVERYWHERE!}

Food Production

Economics and Growth

Helping solving the problems {WHAT MIGHT I DO?}
Permaculture
Use less energy
Opposing Airport Expansion and Grand Projects
Buy Locally
Work Locally
Etc

Given that we all see the problem differently I would suggest this would benefit from lots of review.

Thanks for the feedback.
I had a rough idea of this part of a series:

1: Global Problem ??Basically animation for Colin Campbell's short summary that begins, "The Industrial Revolution opened in the mid 18th Century with the exploitation
of coal, initially in Britain, providing a new fuel for industry, transport and trade,
which grew rapidly. The Oil Age dawned 100 years later..."

2: Supply & Demand ? This is the one you've seen

3: Global Consequences ??Similar to 1, but probably based on James Kunstler's scenarios.

4: What can you do?

Fairly along the lines of what you've come up with, but you suggested some things I hadn't thought of which is good. The animation takes a long time (when it's not just charts), so we'll be able to include everything to make this very effective. I can't find anything similar on other PO sites so we could find it floating around elsewhere if it's good enough.
