Does anyone think it would be a good idea to collaborate on writing a punchy article on peak oil, then sending it to all our local newspapers, national papers, magazine publishers etc. at the same time as a co-ordinated campaign ?

Maybe at least some would print it, and more people would pick up on the issues around it - especially with oil prices so high.

If it does actually get printed in local papers, we could write to our MP's again and maybe they might be more prepared to listen. After all, even though most of them are crap, they're the ones making the decisions.

It's a nice idea.

If you can find a way to present the core arguments in words that are both likely to be printed and also meaningful to readers new to the subject then it might be worth the effort.

It's all about choice of words, language, style, pitch - look at the contrast between Simmons and Ruppert on the core PO issues.....

It might be counter-productive to send the same article to many papers - editors will likely smell a concerted campaign. I would suggest we all write independantly.

Try writing letters to the editor instead.
