Actually they are tastefully done, I might even wear one myself.

Which site does it suggest (I can't read the small print on the pictures) ?

We should nick the style and the graphics but add the P/S site reference and also add a "Made in the UK" tag on the order page.

Anyone know how to make low volume T-shirts like these?

C'mon lets have 20 made - I'll buy one just to show willing.

It's a very good idea as people will inevitably ask - what's that about?
No need to feel guilty about bringing up the topic!

Wink

Certainly we could do it ourselves, but how about approaching a company that manufactures 'political T-shirts' in the UK to see if they'd be willing to take on the cause? OK, so Powerswitch might not get any money out of it that way, but think of the extra exposure.

Philosophy Football certainly spring to mind. Teemarto also, though maybe it might be a bit too serious for them.

Any thoughts?

We could use cafe press uk ourselves and then there would be no initial outlay.

Hi Guys

Well they say that imitation is the highest form of flattery- so thank you very much for the comments! I am thrilled that you like them.

But ***please do not copy them and do them youselves without contacting me first*** - I designed them and I've given them a creative commons license: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/

If you want to make a run of tshirts with my designs, and give them away or sell them at the same price it cost you to get them made, please contact me first.

If you want to modify the design - e.g. if you want to put 'Powerswitch' at the bottom instead of www.oilcrisis.com, please contact me first.

If you want to use them for commercial purposes such as fundraising for peak-oil activites then you must get permission from me first.

The website at the bottom of the design is www.oilcrisis.com, and is owned by my friend Ron Swenson in the US.

I'll contact Cafepress in the US and see if I can get an online shop up and running in the UK.

But if you want to you can order them through the US shop too, they'll just post it to you in the UK.

Cheers

Oooops, I never gave a thought about copyright (or such) for the design!

Getting a load of T-shirts shipped from the US doesn't sound a good use of resources or good for the climate - I think we should get a batch done in the UK, vai whatever outlet is suitable.

I do think we ought to add the powerswitch url to the design if we can do it in a way that Elisabeth is happy with.

We're not looking to sell these at a profit (right??) so Elisabeth should have no worries on that score.

I am rubbish at graphic design so I am not the right person drive this forward, but I will put my hand in my pocket if we can get soemthing going.

What do people think??

I've been wearing this out now. I have had a few stares, but no-one's come up and asked about it yet. Might as well be wearing a Duran Duran T-shirt Razz

I nicked it from oilcrisis.com who themselves nicked it from http://www.cafepress.com/peakoilaware/ where it is stated that it is free to use under a creative commons license.
As it is put on a slide on a presentation I am adapting (death by powerpoint coming your way soon) - "Peak Oil must be real...it even has merchandise!"
In the leaflet I left the oilcrisis.com link on it as it was a way of getting another link included.

I'm not sure if this is the t-shirt topic that Damien wanted this reposted to, but its the only one I can see in this forum
