If I had set up a country I wouldn?t have made it a Principality. Seems a bit too self centered to me. I wonder if there are any more forts left?

There's a bit of a legal problem with that (even though sealand may deny it), as the platform is actually on crown territory - so technically they are squatting, just the government can't be assed to do anything about it at the moment Wink

I heard on the news today that a chap from Victoria (I think) was jailed for failing to pay income tax.

He'd claimed he'd seceded from the Commonwealth (he owned a rather large property) and therefore wasn't under the juristiction of Australian law or the Australian Tax Office. His biggest mistake was making about six million dollars from his business (he manufactured polustyrene boxes). The Police just marched in and took him away in handcuffs when he told the ATO to go get stuffed.

The lesson? If you're going to set up your own sovereign state, make damn sure you can defend it! Wink

Why am I reminded of an episode of Family Guy where they invade nextdoor as well to expand their empire....
