Roadtest our survey before we unleash it on the public at large.

What was the purpose with all that? What about some correct answers to the fact based questions? Or some answer statistics?

You should receive an email with a link to the answers. However, I think that should be made clear at the beginning.

The idea of this survey is to get people - people not really aware of peak oil or energy in general - thinking about the issue.

I think you should add a statement to the form to reassure people that you won't use/misuse peoples email addresses.

I'm very cautious about typing my email address into webforms from unfamiliar organisations because I don't like getting lots of spam - some of your target participants might feel the same way (they won't know you luverly powerswitch people like we do Smile.

Good point!

Has everyone been receiving the email confirmations after completion?

Yeps. Seem to be working. Answered my previous question also. Maybe you could mention the mail-to-be-expected on the last page in the survey?

Couple of slightly confusing/ambiguous questions...
How many years till the oil runs out needs clarifying - at current use rates, or whatever. Also not sure about even having this question at all as it throws focus back on the oil will/wont run out irrelevancy. The emailed answer link does clarify it though.

Plastics question seemed somehow 'odd', likewise the one on who has most accurate view - but again the answer page clarified.

Would it be possible for the email to include both a note of how you answered and also a 'score' (for those questions where there is a right answer).
Interesting that you have chosen to link to powerswitch and chevron in the answer email Smile

How are you going to get people to try it, and are you going to post a running total of answers somewhere so we can see how well informed (or not) the audience is...

Overall I think it's very good, but I'd make the following points:

It should be clear at the start for what reasons my email address is needed - it's one thing that will often make me go no further on some sites. I don't need any more emails!

I had problems with a couple of the questions:

"Which of the following would be an acceptable substitute to you during oil and gas shortages?" - I didn't understand what this meant in any way that allowed me to provide a sensible answer

"In your view who is most likely to have an accurate view of world-wide oil resources?" - Having read the email answer I understand what you're getting at, but it wasn't clear to me from the wording of the question.

1) "For every barrel of oil used today how many do you believe are found"

- change the bottom options to 1/2 and 1/4.

2) "Which of the following do you understand The Hydrogen Economy to be"

- another option - "a small contributor to the solution"

3) "In your view, which of the following are the most likely reasons for the USA to have gone to war with Iraq"

- change the petrodollar option to read "Iraq moved its oil trading...."
