I'd like to see a "write in Jim Mattis" campaign in New Hampshire just to give those Republicans such as your wife an alternative. I doubt he would decline to serve if called. |

I'd vote for Jim. |

It would be very interesting to read your opinions on the article, addressing the subjects of USA consumption, production, subsidies. Also the predictions on the decline of tight oil. |

That seems like a completely reasonable exercise. Having gone through about the first 20 of his 30 paragraphs, most of his article isn't about the topics you've mentioned. Of, he says something here and there, particularly about US tight oil and shale gas, but he spends more time claiming that he correctly predicted high prices devastating the economy then he does on the topics you mention. |

Would it help if I quote small sections of it ? |

Sure. I've already been through the first 20 paragraphs, then ran off and looked up some of his earlier work to see how honest he was being. Oops....poor guy, obviously he has a personal revisionist thing going on, which isn't a surprise. At least guys like Heinberg were willing to admit it, even if a little, at the end of the day. Apparently JMG figures no one will check his words now with his words then, we must all be stupid! |

Greer's latest. |
For someone who started off as a run of the mill half baked oil doomer, John looks like he is now trying out a more measured argument to climate change. Even mentions the global cooling scare of the 1970's <gasp!>.
Good thing he doesn't post here, otherwise Ken might give him the same treatment he hands out to woodburner! |

Seemed more like a book review with commentary than anything else. The good news being, he didn't venture off into yet more doomer revisionist history and stayed away from science and anything technical. |
