Do we really need another centrist party in UK politics, when people are starting to lurch to either the right or the left?

I'm sure you'll all be glad it hear that it has links to none other that our former esteemed leader Tony Blair Laughing

It will not surprise you to know that I am not a fan of the proposal to create a completely new party. Our electoral system makes it really difficult to challenge the system as it stands.

It has already been done, and was a miserable failure. "Go back to your constituencies and prepare for government." Yeah, right.

All that would happen is that a few Blairites would leave Labour, with one or two anti-Brexit tories, most of them would lose their seats at the next election, and any still standing would end up joining the libdems.

Or would that become the LibDems(Cent) on the basis of what happened last time there was a breakaway from the Labour Party? (....) depending on what the name of the newly failed party was.

It might rid the Labour Party of all the folk machinating against Corbyn, mind, saving them (and him) a lot of time and aggro.
